Questions for the final

Here are my Qs for the final! I decided to post them on this blog (of the 3 options I had) because it is where I started the class.

BYU Testing Center - tis the season

1. When teachers make small videos for their students (or point them to other videos or resources on the web), this enables learning at home and homework do be done in the classroom. This teaching model is called _______ the classroom. See my blog post (on my main blog)

2. In Homer's The Odyssey, characters often appear differently than how they really are. For example, Athena often changes her disguise, and it seems that whenever Odysseus shows up he is looking even more godlike and strapping than normal. These aspects of the ancient epic are most similar to what current issue in digital culture? (see this post to find the answer)

a) Privacy and crime

b) Identity

c) Cybernetics

d) Appropriate digital dieting

3. In her post about copyright, plagiarism, and remix culture, Jelena Reschke talks about a very important aspect of the law that should be near and dear to all folks interested in digital culture. She stated: "_________ puts some restriction and limitation on the exclusivity of copyright, allowing for people to have a limited use on things that are copyrighted."

4. Earning college degrees and high school diplomas have been a part of our culture for generations. However, the open badge system as spearheaded by Mozilla is a worthwhile and potentially more important accreditation method in our developing digital culture when compared to the more formal methods that have prevailed in the past. (see Katie Wilkie's post and Jessica Lee's post)

5. In the current age of information and digital culture, and the high demand for digital and media literacy in our schools, teachers should feel fully justified to post and view clips of Hollywood movies, pop songs, and other popular culture content without fear of lawsuit or punishment. (see my posts, 1, 2, and 3)
